Science enables human beings to progress rapidly and lead a better life. For example, Edison's invention of the light bulb brought our gloomy life to the end and created a bright world for us. Another case in point is Watt's discovery of the steam engine, which triggered the industrial revolution in the western countries, and later all over the world.

Meanwhile, sometimes science does have some side effects. A good illustration of this is atomic energy, which can destroy human beings completdy when used in nuclear weapons.

Anyhow, it is men who develop science. And science, in turn, will do us good in general. As for its side effects, I believe human beings will be rational enough to avoid them or keep them under control.

As a result, the population of the world is increasing, causing tots of problems. Second, because of the development of industry, tots of the wastes from factories pour into the air and rivers, causing pollution of att kinds. Third, some terrorists are using science and technology against mankind. They use biological, chemical and unclear weapons to threaten world peace.

So its urgent that we find ways to solve these problems. But we should not stop the development of science and technology because of these disasters they bring, just as we should not give up eating for fear of choking. In addition, we should make some rules to regulate our actions. As long as we use science and technology in a proper way, they may bring us even more benefits.

I lay on the bed and fell asleep. I slept, I slept. All of a sudden, I went to another world. I was wearing contact lenses, a pen in my ear, a handheld computer in my hand, and the environmental scientist printed on my suit. All of a sudden, there was a wind. All of a sudden, the garbage was all over the sky. Countless garbage came to me and pressed on me. I was so scared that I woke up and thought: just now it's terrible. If I were an environmental scientist, what would I do?

If I were an environmental scientist, I would clean up the rubbish first. It took me ten days and ten nights to finally invent the natural enemy of garbage - garbage processing machine. This machine is fully automatic and extremely fast. As soon as it touches the garbage, it quickly recycles the recyclable and eats the non recyclable. You might say, "how dirty that is!" I'll tell you, garbage is its food. Every ten tons of garbage it eats, its speed doubles.

If I were an environmental scientist, I would make the air fresh. I spent nine days and nine nights to create an air freshener sprayer. It is also fully automatic. As long as you feel that the air is polluted, you can spray it immediately. Don't look down on the air freshener. As long as the air is sprayed, the air will be fresh for a long time.

If I were an environmental protection scientist, I would make the flowers red and grass green all the year round, and the trees flourish. I spent another ten days and ten nights to make immortal trees and immortal flowers and plants. This is all the credit of preservative 5 developed by me. As long as I sprinkle it on the flowers, plants and trees, they can survive for a long time.

I want to see people's smiles. It's not hard. As long as I try my best to protect the environment and grow up to be an environmental scientist, I believe that reverie will become a reality and the environment will become better!

"She has this thing where she goes to a movie theater, watching a horror movie and there was a wolf howling in the background.” University of Cambridge zoologist Arik Kershenbaum, talking about his collaborator Holly Root-Gutteridge, a biologist at Syracuse University. She said to herself, ‘Well, that's wrong. That's clearly a European wolf and not a North American wolf like it should be in the scene.'"

Slight variations in the way we speak allow us to tell whether someone is from Boston or New York just by listening to them. The same turns out to be true for the animals known as canids, which includes wolves, dogs and coyotes. They all howl to communicate—but those howls vary. Canids can tell which howls belong to their known associates and which belong to strangers.

So Kershenbaum and Root-Gutteridge decided to categorize the howls of different canids around the world. Together with colleagues, they compiled recordings of more than 2,000 canid howls, including European wolves, Mexican wolves, arctic wolves, dingoes, coyotes, golden jackals, domestic dogs, New Guinea singing dogs, and more. A computer program sorted the howls into different types. The study was published in the journal Behavioral Processes. [Arik Kershenbaum et al, Disentangling canid howls across multiple species and subspecies: Structure in a complex communication channel]

Based on the analysis, canids use 21 different kinds of howls to communicate. If you think of the howls as words, then all canids have the same vocabulary—but each species or sub-species has its own unique dialect. Some words are more common in one dialect, while other words are more common in another dialect and so on. By matching dialect with species and geography, researchers could monitor endangered species, like red wolves, just by listening.

AK: "Being able to distinguish between the howls of a coyote and the howls of a red wolf opens the possibility for techniques of passive monitoring, passive population monitoring, using acoustics."

Meanwhile, ranchers have tried to broadcast specific howls to discourage grey wolves from feasting on their livestock, but it's never been successful.

AK: "Because we don't really know what message we're conveying to the wolves when we play back an arbitrary howl. For all we know, we could be playing back a howl that means come and eat, there's lots of interesting food over here."

The research could thus finally bring peace to the conflict between ranchers and wolves, by finally speaking to the predators in their own language.

Human life can not continue without science and technology. In fact, the advancement of human society has always been depended upon the development of science and technology. As a result, the life we are living now is more civilized than that of our forefathers’.

The development of science and technology has brought about many changes in people’s life. For example, the invention of television has opened a new era for mankind. We can now view events which are happening thousands of miles away.

Science and technology also play and important role in our socialist construction. Our socialist construction is just like a sky scraper, while science and technology are its base. Without the base, the skyscraper cannot be built. Therefore, we should try our best to further develop science and technology so as to lay a more solid base for our socialist construction.

Relationship between Customer and Seller

The relationship between customer and seller is now becoming more and more important in people’s life, with the rapid development of market economy. A good relationship between customer and seller can make buying and selling a happy experience and benefit both buyer and customer.

A good relationship between customer and seller can only exist on the basis of honesty and respect. The seller should be honest to customers introducing the actual advantages and disadvantages of his goods. He mustn’t deceive customers, charge too high a price or serve them indifferently. On the part of the customer, he should also respect the seller and be reasonable. Some customers think they are “God” of the sellers, so they often behave coldly or even rudely to them. That’s not good manners. As long as one busy of his own will, both sides are equal.

Sometimes problems and mistakes are inevitable. For example, the seller may forget to give his customer the change. If he doesn’t do it on purpose, the customer should be considerate and excuse him. On the basis of honesty and kindness, problems can easily be solved.,

Science and technology play an important role in peoples daily lives. if you compare the life of people today with that in the past, it is easy to see that science and technology have done a great deal to improve the quality of peoples lives. for eample, computers have become our good friends: with the help of computers, people all over the world are able to share whatever information on the net, which shortens the distance between them. with the invention of radio and tv, people now can stay at home to get themselves informed about both domestic and international news.

But as a coin has two sides, technology can aisc have an negative influence upon peoples lives. now technology crimes are very common. whats more, the nuclear bomb threatens our human eistence. so i think we must pay enough attention to the misuse of technology.

In spite of its disadvantages, we should admit that technology is very useful, without science and technology, mans life would not be as convenient as today.

In shying that the world,is at a crossroads created by science andtechnology I know I am not the first. But mankind cannot afford to hesitate in indecision. There is only one choice for us. We must begin to move along the road to a better future for all the peoples of the world and we must do this now.

By the end of the 20th century, the population of the world might have been doubled, in attempting to ensure food, clothing and a dignified standard of life for this enormous host of people we must use every weapon that science and technology can give us. There are obvious difficulties for the less developed areas in doing this for example, lack of capital, differences in social structure and inadequate knowledge.

Our strategy to overcome these difficulties must be have to look at world problems as a whole, that is,try to better Our understanding of the complex interactions between the multitude of development activities. We already know the great gifts that science and technology can bestow on all nations. If we are made wiser by a constant appreciation of the complexities of what we are attempting, the faster we shall move towards a solution of the really imperative problem that confront us everywhere.

With the advancement of the times, technology is getting more and more developed, and our lives are more convenient. Maybe some people think that science is very far away from us, we don't need to learn it, do not need to pay attention to science. In fact, science is by our side, our clothing and food and housing are inseparable from science. For example, colorful clothing needs to be scientifically treated and printing; food, vegetables need for reasonable use of fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides; cement, mushrooms, glass, plastic chemical products are important building materials; gasoline, diesel It is a fuel of many modern vehicles; these are unparalleled with scientific, so learn science is a student living. Nowadays, the scientific use of energy has become an important topic of scientific research.

Oil and coal are very precious energy, but the oil products are so unfortunately if it is used as fuel burning, for this reason, chemical science and technology workers have done a lot of research. The larger molecules in the fuel oil into small molecules can be processed into various products. Heating the coal across the air to thousands of degrees Celsius, it can make the coal to decompose into coke oven gas, crude ammonia water, coke and coal tar, etc., can also further form a variety of useful products. But the environmental problems caused by scientific development are also a lot. At present, the fuel used in most cars is gasoline or diesel. Some substances generated during combustion, such as carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbons, oxides, lead compounds, and soot, etc., which can be contaminated with the exhaust gas to cause pollution.

Therefore, there are some measures to reduce automobile exhaust pollution: improve the combustion of the engine, so that gasoline can fully combustion; use the transcripts to the harmful gas into a harmless substance; lead-free gasoline, prohibited lead material discharge; increase Monitor the tail gas, prohibit the car on the road without environmental standards. Scientific in development, the times are progressing. Humans lead to deep sea is very rugged, one of the reasons, is a high-tech pressure, and people have to sneak into deep sea. It is a high-tech problem.

In 2012, my country's self-study of the dragons, the dragon sub-submersible sneaked into the 7km deep sea and knocked on the door of this mysterious "Dragon Palace". This is the result of scientific exploration. Science is around us, it is closely related to our lives, we must be good at insight into the autumn, pay attention to all tiny phenomena, and learn to think about the mystery and contribute to scientific research. Learning science is learning life, Zhou Enlai said to study for the rise of China, and now we have to learn science for the development of China.

It is natural that young people love movie stars or popular singers.

However, great scientists and inventors also deserve our respect as national often feel embarrassed if foreigners ask us why vulgar singers or actors are so popular in china, but we are more embarrassed when most of our teenagers are ignorant of chinese great scientists. in the past, chinese did not traditionally respect scientists: nowadays,we seem to get used to the idea that scientists should have a tough life, otherwise they would be spoiled. in fact, most chinese scientists are having a hard time. they are working with low pay, with many difficulties and much frustrations, but without enough research funds or proper social respect. as a result, many young scientists quit their jobs.

There are lots of things we can do to change the situation. for exampie, if billions of dollars are wasted every year in feasting and luxurious cars, why can not we manage to cut the waste just a little to support our scientists? one has to realize that science and technology are a driving force but corruption will ruin our country.

There is an urgent need to honor our own outstanding scientists as national heroes, who can help china become a better educated nation. we must do it right now, because china needs their service more desperately than ever before.

Here is a difference between science and nce is a method of answering theoretical questions; technology is a method of solving practical problems. Science has to do with discovering the facts and relationships between observable phenomena in nature and with establishing theories that serve to organize these facts and relationships; technology has to do with tools, techniques, and procedures for implementing the findings of science.

Another distinction between science and technology has to do with the progress in each. Progress in science excludes the human factor. Scientists, who seek to comprehend the universe and know the truth with the highest degree of accuracy and certainty, cannot pay heed to their own or other people's likes or dislikes, or to popular ideas about the fitness of things. What scientists discover may shock or anger people--as did Darwin's theory of evolution. But even an unpleasant truth is more than likely to be useful; besides, we have the option of refusing to believe it! But hardly so with technology;we do not have the option of refusing to hear the sonic boom produced by a supersonic aircraft-flying overhead; we do not have the option of refusing to breathe polluted air. Unlike science, progress in technology must be our slave and not the reverse.

The legitimate purpose of technology is to serve peopie--people in general, not merely some people; and future generations, not merely those who presently wish to gain advantage for themselves. We are all familiar with the abuses of technology. Many people blame technology itself for widespread pollution, resource depletion and even social decay in general--so much so that the promise of technology is obscured. That promise is a cleaner and healthier world. If wise applications of science and technology do not lead to a better world, what else will?

Science had its beginning when man started asking questions about his environment. He wondered where the sun went at night and why the sky was blue. He questioned why the wind blew and the leaves fell. He sought answers to these and other questions. Not all his answers were correct, but at least he did want to know.

Curiosity and Imagination

Science began to develop rapidly when man laid aside his wrong beliefs and begs to seek true explanations. Young children are curious about how things work. The child wants to take apart a watch to see what makes it work.

Benjamin Franklin wondered about lightning. He combined his curiosity with imagination and carried out his well-known experiment to show that lightning and an electric spark are the same thing. Curiosity and imagination are important qualities which help stimulate the discovery of new facts and advance science.

Belief in Cause and Effect

Scientifically minded people believe in a "cause-and-effect" relationship. They feel there is a perfectly natural explanation for everything. For example, there is a good reason why some leaves turn red and others yellow in the fall. Changes such as these, which are easily observed, are called phenomena. Some common phenomena, however, are not completely understood. Still others cannot be explained at all at this time. In cases where the explanation is unknown the scientific point of view is that there is a reason if it can only be discovered.

Being Open - Minded

Open-mindedness is also extremely important to a scientific attitude. This means the ability to face the facts as they are regardless of what one has previously thought. It includes an ability to accept new and sometimes even disagreeable ideas. The worker in science must face facts whether they are pleasant or unpleasant. He must expect many failures and be willing to try again. Thomas Edison failed thousands of times before he succeeded in producing the first electric lamp.

The solutions to real problems cannot be seen in advance. Scientists must be able to change their thinking and to adapt their theories to new facts as they are discovered. The mind cannot be made up once and for all. New knowledge may make a change in thinking necessary. This is another way of saying that man's understanding is always less than perfect. What is accepted as true often is relatively, and not absolutely, true. A scientific truth offers an explanation that is acceptable only in the light of what is known at a particular time.

Respect for the Views of Others

Another part of a scientific attitude is respect for the views of others. This is easy when these views are like one's own. The difficulty comes up when their ideas are different. Views which are entirely new or foreign may also be hard to accept.

New ideas are frequently very slow to be accepted. Scientists such as Galileo, Louis Pasteur, and Edward Jenner were laughed at because they held theories that were not accepted. Respect for new ideas is important for continued progress in all fields of knowledge.

Opinions on Evidence

Sometimes evidence is not complete. It may take time for new facts to become available. When they are available, a person may have to change his mind. New findings may also require a “wait-and-see” attitude. For example, there is an experiment on the sprouting of seeds which has been running for more than 50 years. The purpose is to determine how long a time can be buried in the ground and still grow when proper conditions for growth exist.
