　　第一是聯想法。

比如soft是柔軟的意思，你可以聯想到索芙特洗髮水，索芙特洗髮水洗出的頭髮都是柔亮的，它的名字也是這麼翻譯過來的，索芙特soft;再比如drunk是喝醉了的意思，那麼我們就可以這麼想，喝是drink，drink和drunk的區別就在於i和u，i就好像是我們喝之前的肚子，很扁，但是喝多了呢，i就變成了u，肚子鼓起來了，也就喝醉了;還有praise這個詞是誇獎的意思，我們知道raise是提升的意思，那當我們的成績提高了，老師就會表揚我們"prettygood"，所以讚揚是p加raise，praise.

　　第二種記單詞的方法是諧音法。

比如pour是傾瀉的意思，pour是“破”的`音，我們可以想象，你們家的魚缸有一天因為你玩籃球給砸破了，然後裏面連魚帶水都傾瀉出來的場景，那就是pour了;還有scan是掃描、瀏覽的意思，它的音像“四看”一樣，那麼四下看看不就是瀏覽的意思麼。

　　第三種方法是詞根詞綴法。

比如我們知道re-是代表重複的詞根，birth是出生的意思，那麼rebirth就是重生的意思;dis-是表示否定的詞根，那麼able是能夠，disable就是不能夠的意思，agree是同意，disagree是不同意;還有一些詞綴，比如我們知道的，-er代表人，比如teacher、leader、gardener，除此之外還有很多代表人的詞綴，比如-ant，assistant是助理，servant是僕人。

　　第四種方法是單詞起源法。

比如road一詞在英語裏泛指“路”時，相當於漢語裏的“馬路”。“馬路”可以指供車馬行走的道路，也可以指一般的路。而road的祖先恰好也同“馬”有關。Road在古英語中寫作rad，是從ridan(即"ride"，騎馬)一詞演變來的，rad就是“供騎馬行走的路”，也就是“馬路”。儘管中國的“馬路”上並不一定有馬，英國的"road"上也不一定有騎馬的人，然而我們都這樣習慣地叫下去。再舉一個例子breakfast，fast是“齋戒”、“封齋”的意思，如伊斯蘭教每年有一個月為“齋月”，“把齋”的人在這個月白天一天不進飲食。只是在一早一晚，也就是看不見太陽的時候進餐，齋月滿時為“開齋”，是伊斯蘭教徒十分隆重的節日。Break是“打破”的意思，breakfast原意為breakthefast，即“打破齋戒”或“開齋”。早餐是打破齋戒的第一餐，所以叫breakfast.

　　第五種方法是手舞足蹈法。

比如説對於push和pull的記憶，學生總是分不清它們哪個是“拉”哪個是“推”，這時不妨抬起一隻胳膊，並做一個推的動作，同時嘴裏發出“噗哧”的聲音，這樣以後每當你再讀到push的時候，就都會想到這個推的動作了，這兩個單詞也就去分開了。

　　第六種方法是猜詞法。

在閲讀文章的時候，你可以嘗試先根據語境猜一猜，然後再查字典。

6. account for sth.：為……負責

The security attendants must account for the safety of the President.保安隨從必須負責總統的安全。

7. achieve the goal：達成目標

As lont as you don't give up, you will achieve the goal soner or late.只要你不放棄，早晚會達成目標。
