英語聽説考試模仿朗讀練習題及答案

  朗讀練習題一

Once upon a time long ago, there lived a farmer only three feet tall. He was so short that he needed a stool to stand on. This bothered him not a bit because although he was small he was very brave. In fact, in his heart he secretly longed to become a knight and win the hand of the Princess. The Princess was the King and Queen's only child and it should come as no surprise that the little farmer loved her very much for she was both kind and beautiful. She was even smaller than he, and had dancing eyes and beautiful long hair. But, the little farmer could admire the Princess only from afar because she was, after all, a princess and he but a poor farmer--not even that tall.

One fine evening a young princess went out to take a walk by herself in a wood; and when she came to a spring of water, she sat herself down to rest a while. Now she had a golden ball in her hand, which was her favourite plaything. After a time she threw it up so high that she missed catching it as it fell; and the ball bounded away, and rolled along on the ground, until at last it fell down into the spring. The princess looked into the spring after her ball, but it was very deep, so deep that she could not see the bottom of it. She began to cry, and said, 'If I could only get my ball again, I would give all my fine clothes and jewels, and everything that I have in the world.'

  朗讀練習題三

A Man was going to the house of a rich person. As he went along the road, he saw a box of good apples at the side. He said, "I don't want to eat those apples; for the rich man will give me much food; he will give me very nice food to eat." Then he took the apples and threw them away into the dust. He went on and came to a river. The river had become very big; so he could not go over it. He waited for some time, then he said, "I cannot go to the rich man's house today, because I cannot get over the river." He began to go home. He didn't eat anything that day. He came to the apples, and took them out of the dust and ate them.
