　一、語言精確性：這個問題涵蓋了很多比較瑣碎的小問題，例如不同詞序在語言表達上的巨大區別，意思相近兩個詞反映的不同語境，不起眼的虛詞對句意的`重要影響等等，因為同學們很難分辨這些細節對題目、選項和文章的影響，所以絕大多數同學都會常常遇到一個重要困難，覺得很多題目中，總是能先排除兩個錯誤選項，還剩兩個選項都有可能，自己只能憑感覺選一個，嚴重影響了正確率。而市面上的教材和多數的培訓課程並不強調語言的精確性，導致了大量在這一部分有缺陷的同學難以提高託福閲讀分數。

　二、意羣/句子之間的聯繫：很多同學在閲讀的時候，只注意詞，短語，句子的意思，但忽略了他們之間的關係，因此不能連貫地聯繫前後文，在腦海中充滿了信息的碎片，但讀完之後不知道段落要講什麼，也不知道作者的思路是什麼。正所謂“只見樹木，不見森林”。當學生處於這種困境時，特別容易被題目設計的陷阱所坑害。因為這一問題比較集中，沒有語言精確性那麼的瑣碎，因此筆者在這裏將舉兩例進行説明。

例1：請同學們完成這個題目再看解析

Making an efficient icebox was not as easy as we might now suppose. In the early nineteenth century, the knowledge of the physics of heat, which was essential to a science of refrigeration, was rudimentary. The commonsense notion that the best ice-box was one that prevented the ice from melting was of course mistaken, for it was the melting of the ice that performed the cooling. Nevertheless, early efforts to economize ice included wrapping the ice in blankets, which kept the ice from doing its job. Not until near the end of the nineteenth century did inventors achieve the delicate balance of insulation and circulation needed for an efficient icebox.

According to the information in the second paragraph, an ideal icebox would

很多同學在做此題的時候都會在A、C、D三個選項中選擇，最後憑藉感覺不明不白地選擇一個，聽從命運的安排。我們來分析一下，首先，句子主幹 the commonsense notion發出的動詞是was of course mistaken，句中that引起的定語從句是對the commonsense notion的解釋，而這一串信息與A是一個意思，文中已經説了這個the commonsense notion是錯的，因此A排除。句中的for鏈接了兩個分句，請問同學們，你是怎麼理解這個for的?如果你知道這個for是“因為”的意思，那麼請問 for後面的內容是對的還是錯的?答：既然後句是在解釋為什麼前句為什麼是錯的，那麼後句的內容就是對的，for後面的信息與C對應，因此C是正確答案。再往後看，nevertheless是什麼意思?如果你知道這個詞表示轉折，那麼既然轉折前是正確信息，那麼轉折後呢?是不是按照邏輯就又應該是錯誤信息了，而nevertheless後面的信息與D選項一樣，因此D排除。
