　　生活節奏 Pace of Life

Looking around, you will find interesting difference between people’s pace of life. Some are always in a hurry and try to get everything done as soon as possible, while some other people always take their time and lead their life in a slow pace. What do you think is better? In my opinion, different life paces reflect various life concepts and both types have advantages and disadvantages.

環顧四周，你會發現人們的生活節奏之間存在着一些有趣的差異。有些人總是匆匆忙忙併設法用最短的時間完成所有的事情，而另一些人總是慢悠悠地生活。哪種生活比較好呢?在我看來，生活節奏的差異只是反映了不同的生活理念，而每一種生活節奏都有其優點和缺點。

One the one hand, people living a fast pace life are easier to get success. The people who are got used to in a hurry all the time will have more time to do the things that they want. And most of them are active. They have more opportunity to enjoy the happiness of success. However, they also lose something when they are hurry to pursue success. They forget to stop to enjoy life itself or treasure the beautiful scenery in their life. As a result, those people always have lots of success, but lack of love.

一方面，生活在快節奏的人更容易取得成功。那些習慣了總是匆匆忙忙的人會有更多的時間做他們想做的事。而且他們大部分都是很積極的。他們有更多的機會享受到成功的喜悦。然而，在他們急於追求成功的同時，他們也失去了一些東西。他們忘了停下來享受生活本身或珍惜他們生命中美麗的風景。結果，那一類人總是獲得很多的成功，卻缺乏愛。

On the other hand, people who living a slow pace always can enjoy their life and be happy. The slow coaches always are more tolerant to themselves and others. They would have less stress for themselves, which may bring better mental and physical health. If they don’t push themselves to finish task, they will have more time to enjoy the beautiful scenery around their life and taste life. But, this kind of people will have less chance to be successful, because they don’t put their mind on it.

另一方面，那些生活節奏緩慢的人們總是可以享受生活並且很快樂。性子慢總是對自己和別人都比較寬容。他們會給自己更少的.壓力，這可能會會讓他們的身心都更健康。如果他們不強迫自己完成的任務，他們將有更多的時間去欣賞周圍美麗的景色、品味人生。但是，這種類型的人成功的機會比較小，因為他們不把心思放在那上面。

To sum up, the pace of life just is people’s choice. It is their life concept. There is nothing good or bad. But as for me, I may prefer a slower pace of life. It is just personal hobby.

總之，生活的節奏是人們自己的選擇。是他們的生活理念。沒有什麼好與不好的。對我來説，我比較喜歡慢節奏的生活。這純粹個人愛好。

　　Aging of the Population

　　人口老齡化

Population officials and demographers have much to worry about China’s increasingly aging population. It is estimated that the proportion of people aged 60 or older in China will rise to 11.8 percent in 2020. By the middle of this century, people aged beyond 60 will take up 27.4 percent of the total population — that means one out of every four people will be senior!

The aging population poses a serious challenge to families and the society. On the one hand, with families becoming smaller and living pace escalating, it is even graver for families to care for aged members adequately. On the other hand, aging causes a relative decline in working force. Consequently, the productivity of the whole society will be affected to some extent.

The rapidity of the population’s aging has made it more urgent for the adoption of countermeasures. There is no doubt that the key is to build a solid economic foundation. Meanwhile, importance should be attached to overall social progress by changing the backward situation in social security, welfare and service. What’s more, family care and community-based services should also be encouraged.

Should we help others in need?

Helping others has always been a virtue in traditional Chinese culture. But what’s strange nowadays is that people dare not show their helping hands to those in need. I would like to elaborate my views on this issue.

Firstly, I think people’s moral sense has degraded. When egoism gains the upper hand, many people find it growingly hard to help others. Secondly, there is no denying that some tragic events turn out to be traps by people with evil intentions. So common people are becoming more risk-conscious and are more wary of traps and deceits.

In general, I contend the idea that we should be warm-hearted and offer help as well as look out for potential hazards so as not to be deceived.
