會考英語名詞的複習

第一類：無規律變化

1. foot → feet ， goose → geese， tooth---teeth，child → children， ox → oxen， louse → lice， woman → women， man → men， mouse → mice

注意：與 man 和 woman構成的合成詞，其複數形式也是 -men 和-women。如： an Englishman，two Englishmen. 但German不是合成詞，故複數形式為Germans;Bowman是姓，其複數是the Bowman’s。

第二類：單複數同形：

sheep, deer, fish, cattle, Chinese, Japanese，audience，jin，yuan，two li，three mu，four jin

但除人民幣元、角、分外，美元、英鎊、法郎等都有複數形式。如：a dollar, two dollars; a meter, two meters

第三類：以o結尾的單詞。

A、有些以o結尾的外來詞或縮略詞的複數形式只加"S"；

B、以元音字母加o結尾的`單詞只加"s"piano，photo，zero，radio，bamboo，tobacco，solo，cuckoo，dynamo，cameo，soprano.

如果以o結尾的名詞有生命力，則該詞彙一般加-es。如：Hero，tomato，potato，Negro(黑人)[簡記;黑人英雄吃西紅柿馬鈴薯。]

第四類：以輔音加y結尾的名詞變y為i再加"es"

如：family--families ， city--cities若y前面是元音字母只加"S"，如：key--keys boy--boys play--plays toy--toys

第五類： 以f，fe結尾的名詞，變f，fe為v 加es

如：calf--calves， knife--knives

A.下列名詞直接加"S"

roof(房頂) reef(暗礁) chief(首領) cliff(懸崖) grief(悲痛) turf(草皮) belief(信仰) gulf(港灣) dwarf(侏儒) safe(保險箱) sheriff(長官) tariff(關税)

B. scarf(頭巾) whart(碼頭) staff(全體職員) handkerchief(手帕) hoof(蹄)既可直接加"s"，又可變f為v加es。

第六類：複合名詞複數形式

1、中間沒有連字符的合成名詞在詞尾變複數;bookshelf--bookshelves

handful--handfuls

2、man和 woman構成的複合名詞，二者均變為複數。Man servant--men servants woman teacher--women teachers

3、中間有連字符的合成詞，在主體詞(中心意義的詞)末尾變為複數。

Sister-in-law--sisters-in-law

looker-on--lookers-on

editor-in-chief--editors-in-chief

4、下列合成名詞在後一個詞上變化;sit-in--sit-ins

grown-up--grown-ups

stand-by--stant-bystouch-me-not--touch-me-nots

go-between--go-betweens

第七類：集體名詞，以單數形式出現，但實為複數

如： people police cattle 等本身就是複數，不能説 a people，a police，a cattle，但可以説a person，a policeman，a head of cattle，the English，the British，the French，the Chinese，the Japanese，the Swiss 等名詞，表示國民總稱時，作複數用。

如： The Chinese are industries and brave. 中國人民是勤勞勇敢的。
