關係代詞who與that的用法區別 兩者都可用作關係代詞指人,who引導定語從句的用法。

　　定語從句中只用who不用that的情況

在定語從句中who和which都是關係代詞，都在句中作主語，that除作主語以外還可以作賓語，指代人或物，而who只能指人。在接下來的講解中會看到只用who不用that的情形。

　　1.只指人，並且在從句中作主語的情況

man who is a new one has rent a flat in downtown of New York for a long time.

新來的這個人在紐約市中心租了一棟公寓，有一段時間了。（the man 指人並在句中作主語）

girl who has looked for a job with the help of her tutor is fortunate.

這個女孩在導師的幫助下找到了一份工作，她是幸運的。（the girl 指人並在句中作主語）

professor who wrote a book is teaching history.

寫這本書的專家正在教歷史。（the professor既指人又在句中作主語）

　　2.在非限定性定語從句中作主語，並指人時

feel honored to work with , who has good reputation in the business.

他感到很榮幸和李先生一起工作，李先生在業界有着良好的聲譽。

e is the girl, who was the witness in the severe accident.

作為這場嚴重車禍的目擊者的這個女孩在哪？

scientists, who invented a kind of immune medicine.

科學家發明了一種免疫性的藥物。

　　3.先行詞是god, angel,fairy等詞時，用who不用that。

the oil painting, the state of angels who smiled at each other delivered the artist`s emotional.

在油畫中，天使互相微笑的狀態傳遞了藝術家的情感。

　　who引導定語從句應注意的五個方面。

　　一、 who引導的.定語從句的先行詞是表示人的名詞或代詞。如：

The student who is answering the question is John. 正在回答問題的那個學生是約翰。

Anybody who breaks the laws will be punished. 任何違反法律的人都將受到懲罰。

　　二、 who是主格，在定語從句中作主語，此時不能省略。如：

The person who was here yesterday is a musician. 昨天來這兒的那個人是位音樂家。

但在非正式英語中，who亦可作賓語，且可以省略。如：

The man（who）I saw just now is Mr Li. 我剛才見到的那個人是李先生。

　　三、 在定語從句中，who在人稱、數上和其前面的先行詞保持一致。如：

Do you know the boy who is standing over there? 你認識站在那邊的那個男孩嗎？

　　四、 若先行詞中既有人又有物，關係代詞用that而不用who。如：

He watched the children and boxes that filled the car. 他看見了塞滿汽車的孩子和箱子。

　　五、 若先行詞前面有形容詞最高級、序數詞修飾，關係代詞用that而不用who。如：

Yao Ming is the best basketball player that I know. 姚明是我知道的最好的籃球運動員。

Tom is the first boy that left the room. 湯姆是第一個離開這個房間的男孩。
