解題指導：

該類題常常以以下幾種情況進行考察：

1．描述釋義，也叫概念釋義，即用一種情況來對某詞進行解釋。

eg. huge= very big glass= cup made of glass

agree = say yes/ have the same idea

2．同義詞釋義。指用意義相同或相近的詞進行替換。

eg. nearly = almost perhaps = maybe

difficult = hard fast = quickly

3．否定釋義。即對某些詞用相反的`意思進行解釋。

eg. cheap = no expensive thick = not thin

dirty = not clean low = not high/ tall

4．常識釋義。即詞義本身屬於一種生活常識。

eg. century = 100 years

August = the eighth month

summer = the season between spring and autumn

London = the capital of England
