There are several points contributing to becoming a popular person. Firstly, we have to be honest to ourselves as well as toward other people. Secondly, it is essential to be a modest person instead of an arrogant one, who is impossible to gain respect from others, not mention to the friendship. Thirdly, stay away from selfishness and learn to take good care of others. In a word, as long as be sincere and keep integrity in mind, everyone can cope with other people and make friends with each other.

Advantage and Disadvantages of Being an Only Child

My father used to talk to me about his five siblings. He used to say that I was unfortunate that I had none. And I used to envy him and wonder how nice it would be to have a house ful of brothers and sisters. I also used to wonder what would happen to me if I were to lose my parents.

Frankly speaking, I do not have to share anything with anybody. I own all my parents' love. I can ask for anything I want. I always wear new clothes and eat the Dest food. Since my parents spend all their money on me, I can study at the best university of the country.

Lucky as I am, I now and then feel very lonely and I have nobody to complain about my loneliness. How I long for a quarrel with my brothers and sisters! Of course I have classmates and friends, but they are different. Sometimes I feel so pessimistic that after my parents leave the world, I will have no blood relatives left to share with me the fond memoties of my hermore, I am likely to become selfish while I realize the world is for sharing.

So, I am happy but lonely; I am fortunate but piteous; I am loved but spoiled; I am well-bred but selfish, because I am the only child of the family.

Consider Chinese development in the long term, some people point out that it is necessary for Chinese to carry out one child policy. However, there are opposite voice. They think one child policy is not good for children’s healthy grow up. I agree with the latter opinion. The reasons are as follows.

中國是世界上人口最多的國家，這就加大了發展中國的難度。從中國的長遠發展來看，有些人指出在中國實行獨生子女政策是有必要的。然而，也有反對的聲音。他們認為獨生子女政策不利於孩子們的健康成長。我同意後者的觀點。理由如下。

First of all, one child policy will make children feel lonely. One child policy means every couple just has one child. The child has no sisters or brothers to play with him. As time passes, they will feel lonely. We all know that there is not everything children want to tell their parents. Growing up with no brother or sister, the child may easy to get mental problem, such as, autism. In addition, as every parent just has one child, they will spoil their child double times. As a result, the child will the so called little emperor or little princess. When the child grows up, it is possible that he couldn’t adjust the world, the society, because no one will treat them as little emperor or little princess except their parents.

首先，獨生子女政策會讓孩子感到孤獨。獨生子女政策意味着每對夫婦只能生一個孩子。孩子就會沒有兄弟姐妹和他玩。隨着時間的流逝，他們就會會感到孤獨。我們都知道，並不是所有的'事情孩子都願意告訴父母。成長過程中沒有兄弟姐妹，孩子可能會很容易患上心理問題，如自閉症。此外，由於每對父母只有一個孩子，他們就會加倍地溺愛他們的孩子。結果，孩子就會成為所謂的“小皇帝或者小公主。當孩子長大了，很有可能他們會無法適應這個世界，這個社會，因為除了他們的父母之外沒有人會把他們當成小皇帝或者小公主。

To sum up, one child policy maybe can solve the population problem in some extend, but it is not good for the long term development for china. Because it is not good for the young generation’s healthy growing up for the reasons mention above.

總之，獨生子女政策在某種程度上也許可以解決一些人口問題，但它並不利於中國的長期發展。因為基於以上提到的原因，它並不利於年輕一代的健康成長的。
