With the rapid development of tourist attractions,a growing number of people throng to the scenic spots during their vacations. As is vividly depicted in the cartoon, in the middle of a lake alive with rubbish rows a boat, riding two tourists, who are littering while enjoying the scenery.

We can deduce from the picture that the drawer is trying to capture our attention to the tragedy of the destruction of the rivers and lakes, which is part of the threat to the ecological balance of the planet. It must be admitted that occurrences of water pollution caused by the rapid development of tourism industry is understood by many people with wide and insightful views. Unfortunately, in real practice, tourism has developed in a manner which often conflicts with the environment. To some extent, the faster the tourism economy develops, the worse the environment becomes.

What is the significance of tourism development if the ecological balance is destroyed? In my view, measures should be taken without any delay to address the problem before price is paid for the negative development of the tourism. What should be done first is to make more people aware of the importance of environment protection. Otherwise, sightseeing, as a relaxation for most city dwellers, would be an impossible-to-be-realized wish in a few years. Meanwhile, related laws must be laid down to protect the fragile environment and to penalize those who violate the law. Only in this way would we enjoy a wonderful natural ecosystem and an advantageous, fast-growing tourism economy.

Shanghai Disneyland has opened its gates for a six-week trial run in preparation for its June 16 opening. Before you get too excited, the trials are only open to Disney staff, partners, and stakeholders and their relatives and friends - and if you've not had an invite by now, then we're sorry to say you're probably not going to get one.

The South China Morning Post interviewed several park attendees after the first day trial and one highlighted long queues as one of the main features of the new park, while another mentioned that although the number of visitors were limited, he still had to wait an hour for a ride.

'Everybody had to queue for two hours,' said Weibo user @一隻喬仔 after a visit. 'My legs were almost breaking.'

‘Almost all the rides require an hour of queueing at least, but there are fast passes that you can obtain for certain rides that are marked "fast" on the map.'

“幾乎所有玩的項目都要等上一個小時,不過有些項目在地圖上被標註出來,可以通過快速通道進入。”

到底有多貴呢?

According to estimates, a one-day visit to the resort for a family of three will cost at least 2,600 yuan, which covers admission fees and three meals plus shopping, while a two-day trip will require no less than 6,000 yuan in total.

According to the receipt from the Stargazer Grill at Tommorowland, a hamburger or fried chicken meal with fries and coke costs 75RMB while a kid’s meal of grilled chicken fillet and rice costs 60RMB.

Street snacks located around Disneyland like caramel popcorn in a memorabilia bucket would also set you back 65RMB.

It is exciting to visit different places. As you travel, you will see beautiful sceneries typical of the region. Besides, you can meet and make friends with people of different colors and races. Finally, you can get to know the customs and living habits of the local people. Today people are so fond of traveling that tourism has become one of the faster growing industries in most countries.

The main reason why people travel is, perhaps, for pleasure. For example, having worked hard throughout the weekdays, people will find a widened trip to the nearby mountains or beaches a real relaxation. For another example, spending an annual holiday traveling abroad is an especially satisfying

experience for those who do not have much of an opportunity to be away from their homelands. When people return from their travel, they will generally feel fresh and energetic, ready to work harder.

Traveling is also one of the best means for learning. You may have read or heard about something but you can never get an accurate picture of it until you

see it for yourself. Seeing is believing. Furthermore, if you area careful

observer, you can learn much during your travel about the geography, biology, and history of the places you visit. No matter how well educated you are, there is always a lot for you to learn through traveling. The knowledge acquired from

travel, as you will have found in your life, is no less valuable than that from any influential reference book.

Last summer holiday, I took a trip to Yunnan. It is in the southern part of our country is really a very beautiful place grand mountains, clean rivers and kind people. Trees and flowers are seen everywhere. Every year there are lots and lots of visitors.

Maybe you have heard about Shi Lin (stone forests). There are all kinds of strange stones. Some of the small stones look like graceful girls; and the big stones look like handsome men. Other stones look like cats, peafowls, double-edged swords, mice, elephants and so on. Of all the stones, the stone like a beautiful girl in a legend is the most famous name is A Shima.

I also went to Li Jiang. The roads in that city are just like the Eight Diagrams. Any road in the city goes to the center of Li Jiang. A river runs through the whole city. If you go along the river, you'll never get lost. There are many ethnic minority people in Yunnan. They are very cordial. And they all like singing and dancing. We danced with them around the campfire that night. I really had a good time.

I like the elephants and fruits there best. An elephant is even taller than me! I even mounted the elephant, though I was very afraid at first. But the elephant seemed very friendly. I took some photos with it. The fruits there are very fresh and delicious. They are very good for our health.

The trip to Yunnan impressed me greatly. I will never forget it.

That was the first time for me to come to America. The trip was much more exciting than I had expected. As planned, I got my plane ticket and started my journey. Everything went smoothly at first. I departed from my home city Qingdao and changed a larger plane in Seoul, South Korea. The second day the plane arrived in Chicago on time and I was in high spirits for I almost got to my destination—SMSU (Southwest Missouri State University) in Springfield. Just at that time something unexpected happened.

When I went through the customs, the immigration officer asked me about the 9-year-old boy who travelled with me all the way from China. As a matter of fact, I didn‘t really know the boy before. Before I left China, his grandparents heard that I was coming to Springfield through Chicago, so they asked me to take this boy to his parents who work in Chicago. The boy had all the necessary documents, including his passport, American visa, etc. Without any hesitation, I agreed to take care of the boy on my way to Chicago. I explained to the officer, but he insisted that I should show the boy‘s parents?letter inviting the boy to America, which we didn‘t bring with us. The officer asked us to stay aside and after a while, another officer came and brought us to a special room and ordered us to be quiet. When I looked around, I found another man there, whose ankle was fastened with fetters to a bench leg. It was obvious that I had lost my freedom. They probably thought I was a smuggler who smuggle children to America.

The plane for Springfield was leaving soon. I tried to explain, but they refused to listen. They just asked us to sit still. After about 30 minutes, one officer came to ask me about the boy‘s parents?telephone number and I told him they were waiting outside the Customs Office and told him their names. The officer said he would find them. After another 20 minutes, he came back and returned my passport and allowed me to go, but he did not bring the boy‘s parents in. His parents were not allowed into the Customs Office, so the boy had to wait. Just imagine, how frightening for a boy who was only 9 years old, speaking no English and was told to stay there waiting! So I said: "No, I won‘t go unless the boy goes with me or you let his parents come to fetch him." On hearing this, the officer asked me to wait and after 10 minutes, he came out and gave us the boy‘s passport and allowed us to leave. I looked at my watch. I had 8 minutes left to get onto my plane. We hurried to look for our luggage. Just as the old saying goes, "When it rains, it pours."One of my luggage bags in which I put all my daily neccessities was missing. I looked everywhere but failed to find it. An officer there told me to go and collect it in Springfield. I had to take the boy to his parents. There were so many people waiting outside. I could not find his parents. I had never seen them before. The boy was so young that I dared not let him go alone to look for his parents for fear he might get lost. Finally I had to call out his father‘s name at the top of my voice, and getting a few stares.

They probally thought I was mad. Luckily he heard me and my mission of taking the boy to his parents was fulfilled. But there was only about 2 minutes before the plane took off. So we (his father and I) hurried to the terminal, only to be told the plane had left exactly 2 minutes before. The officer at the terminal suggested us to take the next day‘s plane for it was already 9 pm. I was really exhausted. The only thing I could do then was to find the nearest hotel, "Hilton Hotel"to stay for the night.

The next day I took the first plane to Springfield. My luggage was still missing, and they just asked me to wait and promised to send it to me the next day. I waited and waited... one day... two days... three days... four days... but still it didn‘t come. I felt very depressed, for I could not change my clothes for all these days, and they had begun to smell. But what touched me most was that all the colleagues in my department tried their best to help me and to comfort me. Fortunately the luggage arrived six days later. Although the suitcase was broken, everything inside was safe.
