學英語是有期徒刑，什麼時候出獄和你的單詞儲備量多少有關。背到那個點，就衝出了大氣層，就飄起來了，釋放!

柯林斯系列詞典搞word bank，就是詞庫，提出一個“95%理論”：在詞典上把單詞按照五星到一星的標準分級標出，並聲稱，把這個都背完，就能95%搞定閲讀!

也就是説，閲讀時能達到每100個單詞裏僅有五個不認識的水平。

後來，我又為新西蘭的語言學專家Paul Nation的多篇論文所折服。他説，98%才行。98%的.意思是，你每看50個單詞，才有一個不認識，這就基本不影響閲讀了。

按照英語行均13個單詞計算，就是看四行才有一個生詞，妥!95%那個標準還是不行，20個單詞裏就有一個不認識，説明不到兩行就會碰到一個生詞，讀不下去啊!

經過大量研究，Paul Nation的結論是，要想達到98%的標準，讀小説需要掌握9000個單詞，讀報刊需要掌握8000個單詞。

我非常同意這個觀點。大家的詞彙量按一般水平來説應該在3000左右，這樣算下來還需要記6000個詞。
