B: I think the four-year college studies are important for our future career. With it, we can have more options which will lead to greater success and happiness.

A: Yes. The more you learn, the more choices and opportunities youwill have.

B: Besides, by going to college we can choose what we want to do inlife be able to choose a career that interests us and that will enable us achieve our dreams.

A: Yes, more career opportunities are open to college graduates, and theyare more likely to be employed.

B: So it is vital for us to study hard in college in order to get necessaryskills. A: Yeah!

  3. Work with your partner to discuss why China has been working to narrow the gap between the rich and the poor and how we can narrow the gap.

A: Do you know why China has been working to narrow the gap between the rich and the poor.

B: Of course. By taking measures to narrow these differences, we can reduce poor people’s resentment and contribute the building of a harmonious society.

A: Right. A society with only a small gap between the rich and poor will ensure a lower crime rate. And a better social environment will in turn promote economic development. B: Well, but how we can narrow the gap?

A: I think the government should come up with some measures to change the poor’s life style example, the opportunity can be offered to help the poor to find a job for them ,which can make them make progress in their ordinary life.

A: However, it may also result in some negative effects. Some people may eventually become lazier and lazier, losing their ambitions and motivations. By contrast, people living a fast-pace life seem more productive, efficient and energetic.

B: From my standpoint, I take the view that it's sure that the developmentof technology has made our lives easier and easier. A: Why?

B: The main cause that someone feels burdensome is that the endlessdesires. For example, you are going to buy something from the Internet, you may find there are so many goods that hard to choose. Then you gradually forget your initial goal and buy something futile(沒用的).

A: Yeah. And the peripheral reason is that quantities of people believethat the machine has eaten further into our time. For another example, motorcar, in a large part of people opinion, is not improving personal mobility but slowing down them by traffic jams. However, a new invention named "clear path" has solve the problem days we don't need to worry about being stuck in traffic jams.

B: Every one of us has to admit that we actually benefit a lot from thedeveloping technology.

A: Yes, although we may suffer something badly. However, we canevade(逃避) some futile thing and make full use of our own time.
