時間狀語的定語從句

　　時間狀語的定語從句：

　　when指時間，在定語從句中做時間狀語

when=during/ on/ in/ ... which (介詞同先行詞搭配)

（1）I still remember the day when I first came to the school.

（2）The time when we got together finally came.

　　when引導的定語從句和時間狀語從句的區別

　　的譯法不同。

在時間狀語中，when 翻譯成“當……的時候”

I want to be a teacher when I grow up.

當我長大的時候，我要做一名老師。

在定語從句中，前置時，可以省略，後置時翻譯成“那時” 。

I won't forget the day when he says he loves me.

我不會忘記他説愛我的那一天。

　　2. 位置不同，

在時間狀語中，when引導的`從句可以在句首，可以主句之後。

定語從句中，when從句不能位於句首，且通常when前為表示時間的名詞day、year等。

　　3. when在從句的作用不同。

在時間狀語從句中，when是連詞，只起連接主句和從句的作用，不做從句的任何成分。不過when引導的時間狀語從句修飾主句的謂語，做主句的時間狀語。

在定語從句中，when是關係副詞，在從句中代替先行詞做從句的時間狀語，修飾從句的謂語。

例1 I will always remember the days when I lived with my grandparents in the country.

例2 I always remember the days in the country when I see the photo of my grandparents.

點評：例1意為“我會永遠記得跟我祖父母一起住在鄉下的那些日子”，其中when 引導的是一個定語從句, 修飾the days, when在從句中作時間狀語。例2意為“當我看到祖父母的照片時，總是會想起在鄉下的那些日子”，其中when 引導的從句並不修飾前面的名詞the country，因此可判定為時間狀語從句。
