關於挑戰的英語演講稿
the tempo of modern civilization has been much quickened in the last twenty years. while witnessing the dramatic changes in the better-off society, people begin to reconsider the question of "survival". "survival" in the old sense does not bother us anymore. instead, we are more concerned about how to "survive" in the human world full of competition.
competition always carries abreast challenges and opportunities to everyone involved. it might appear in an entrance exam, in a regular class, or in a small public speech. those who fail to detect its real nature-whether an opportunity or a challenge a competition really is- will lose something more or less conducive to our growth. of course, if we take the competition as an opportunity, we will favor it intentionally because they can help us outstand from the average; they will make us become the focus of public attention; they will grant us more chances and rights to succeed. as a matter of fact, opportunities are supposed to be more perceptible and welcoming than challenges. the truth is, however, we will lose more opportunities when we choose to take the "opportunity" fork at the crossroads. the other fork, ignored by us and defined as "fearful challenges", offers much more chances for the walker in competition.
we have such an inclination in life to overestimate ourselves and hold a thoughtless attitude towards the negative outlook of things.
we believe in the old saying, "opportunity knocks but just once," so we always welcome it and devote all our spirit and efforts to it. the most devout believer of this saying are the graduates. why? there are quite a number of them who pay full attention to positions in big cities and are willing to flood into developed areas under any circumstances, even though there will be too much uncertainty for their choices. innumerable cases go straight to the same miserable end: god seems to refuse to help too many of his worshipers.
in conclusion, to define the quality of competition seems to be far from valuable sense, for no matter what a competition is, an opportunity or a challenge, it will create nutritious elements for our growth.
so take a positive look at everything around. keep our face to the sunshine, and we will not see the shadows.
全球化:中國年輕一代所面臨的'機遇和挑戰! globalization: challenges and
opportunities for chinas younger generation
全球化:中國年輕一代所面臨的機遇和挑戰 ( 這是第七屆“21世紀愛立信杯”全國英語演講比賽冠軍孫寧 的演講稿)
good morning, ladies and gentlemen. today im very happy to be here to share with
you some of my thoughts on the topic of globalization. and first of all, i would like
to mention an event in our recent history. as we can see today, environmentalists from diffrernt countrise are ma-ki-ng joint
efforts to address the issue of global warming, econormists are seeking solutions
to financial crises that range in a particular region, but undelying this might trend of globalization is the echo of e.m. forster’s words,
“only connect!”
humanity. in this interlinked world, there are no outsiders, for a disturbance
in one place is likely to impact other parts of the globe. we have begun to realize
that a world divided cannot endure. china is now actively integrating into the world. our recent entry to the wto
is a good example. for decades, we have taken pride in being self-reliant, but now
we realize the
developing nations’ wealth in debts and interest. globalization, they argue,
should be about an earnest interest in every other nation’s econnomic health. we are reminded by karl marx that capital goes beyond decision-ma-ki-ng, ruthless expansionists in the global market place and a
devastating presence to local businesses. for china , still more challenges exist. how are we going to ensure a smooth
transition from the planned economy to a market-based one? how to construct a legal
system that is sound enough and broad enough to respond to the needs of a dynamic
society? how to maintain our cultural identity in an increasingly homogeneous
world?and how to define greatness in our rise as a peace-loving nation? globalization entails questions
that concern us all.
like many young people my age in china, i want to see my country get prosperous
and enjoying respect in the good noon, ladies and gentlemen. my name is zhangying major in land resource
management. i will talk something about challenges and opportunities in our postgraduate life. all of the postgraduate today have made a choice to have a further study in cumt.
our postgraduate life of course will provide us with opportunities to bring out our
creativity and talent and there is no denying that we lost our chance to work or enter
the society. however, challenges still exist. indeed, facing these two challenges, how can we manage to be a excellent graduate
student and at the same time to enjoy a valuable and rewarding experience? for me, the solution to the problem lies in do what we should do. as a student
we should study hard and in order to relieve our family’s economic burden we should
pursue a high scholarship so it needs us to be more active in many cases. i believe in our future
honorable judges, fellow students: good afternoon!
recently, ther is a heated debate in our society. the college students are the
beneficiaries of a rare privilege, who receive exceptional education at extraordinary
places. but will we be able to face the challenge and support ourselves against all
odds? will we be able to better the lives of others? will we be able to accept the
responsibility of building the future of our country? independently. we help each other clean the dormitory, go shopping and bargain
together, and take part time jobs to supplement our pocket money. the cynics say
we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect the need for character
cultivation. but again, the cynics are wrong. we care deeply for each other, we cherish
freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth. last week, thousands of my fellow
students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children
who suffer from blood cancer. as college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point in our lives.
we all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each will profoundly impact our
future, or even the future of our country. i believe in all my fellow classmates.
though we are still inexperienced and even a little bit childish. i believe that we
have the courage and faith to meet any challenge and take on our responsibilities.
we are preparing to assume new responsibilities and tasks, and to use the education
we have received to make our world a better place. i believe in our future.
關於挑戰的英語演講稿 [篇3]
Good noon, ladies and gentlemen. My name is ZhangYing major in land resource management. I will talk something about challenges and
opportunities in our postgraduate life.
All of the postgraduate today have made a choice to have a further study in CUMT. Our postgraduate life of course will provide us with opportunities to bring out our creativity and talent and there is no denying that we lost our chance to work or enter the society. However, challenges still exist.
At the end of every semester, students in our university should ask ourselves one question as a summary that is As a postgraduate student, what are your major challenges? And I think the answer should include two aspects: studying and professional. We should pay much attention to these two challenges as long as we live in such a competitive world.
A series of challenges in our studies start from almost the beginning of our first year. We may wonder whether we’ve made the right choice of going on learning. We may wonder if the extra activities add credits to our studies. Later on we may be competing with our hardworking, intelligent peers, including our best friends to get more quality credits to gain high scholarship. All of these sounds so familiar and our graduate life have somehow become full of purposes so that we sometimes fail to fully enjoy our educational experience.
Apart from challenges in learning, there are also professional challenges. The competitive world today requires the effective use of knowledge for economic and social development, so our school has made such a rule that graduate should have two published pa-pe-r when we finish our school or we cannot get our degree. So we have the press in writing pa-pe-rs. Also our professors will give our missions to write pa-pe-r or do some projects, too. No matter whether we really want it or we are fit to do so.
Indeed, facing these two challenges, how can we manage to be a excellent graduate student and at the same time to enjoy a valuable and rewarding experience?
For me, the solution to the problem lies in do what we should do. As a student we should study hard and in order to relieve our family’s economic burden we should pursue a high scholarship so it needs us to be more active in many cases.
Transforming our challenges into opportunities maybe a effective way to overcome the second challenges. The pressure may also act as motive power. We can only accept what we cannot change and try our best to make it not so boring and cannot help anymore. In fact, the lack of time is just an excuse, enough time should be found by ourselves. So do not complain any more and to be a person of action. Try to enrich our graduate life, not just full of have to do but more valuable.
