1. a country mile一段很長的距離

該習語多用在美國口語中，名詞country有“農場”的意思。在美國，由於科技比較發達，農場往往都很大。這些農場總能給人以遼闊、遙遠之感。故該習語用country來指“距離之遠”。

A: Is the house close to the central city?

那房子挨着市中心嗎?
