Most of us know about the Nobel Prize, especially the Nobel Peace Prize, but few of us know anything about the man who set them up. His name was Alfred Nobel. 一般來説，英語的`閲讀可分精讀、泛讀和快讀三種形式。

這兩種閲讀方式都需要在平時進行訓練和加強。然而在各種英語考試之中，時間是不可忽略的因素。因而我們還需要掌握另一種閲讀方法，即快速閲讀。快速閲讀要求讀者在非常有限的時間內迅速完成答題者和出題者書面交際的任務。在閲讀的過程之中，略過無關信息，篩選有關信息，利用標題、段落、黑體、斜體、圖表、圖畫、主題句和關鍵詞語，辨認要點，迅速有效地獲取重要信息。但是，要想提高閲讀速度，進行快速閲讀也需要一些具體的方法和技巧，如快速泛讀、計時閲讀、略讀和查讀等。
