"Please, " the collector urged, "I need a cat around my house to catch mice. I'll give you 20 dollars. "

"The cat is yours," the owner said taking the money.

"Listen," the collector added, "I wonder if you could throw in that old saucer as well. The cat seems to 九年級 like it and I'd hate to have him give it up. "

"Sorry," the shop owner answered, "but that saucer brings me luck. Why, just this week I've sold 68 cats!"

例析英語閲讀--查找事實、細節型

這類題目主要包括事實識別、有關計算、識圖、排列順序等。一般地，這類題目可以直接從短文中找到可用的信息。這些問題一般都涉及到文章的“5W”，即 who(人物)，when(時間)，where(地點)， what(事件)，why(原因)，how(方式)等。題目設計大多直截了當。只要通讀全文，注意文中所述的重要事實或細節，就可以做出正確解答。以圖表材料命制的題目更是如此。例如：

【分析】本小題選項B的意思是“要招聘的這個人必須曾在飯館過”。即要具有一定

的從事餐飲業的`經驗。這與原文中敍述的事實“More importantly, he/she should have work experience in a restaurant.”相比較，形式上雖不大一樣，但其內涵卻完全相同。如果考生準確解了短文中的這句話，問題即可迎刃而解。

又如03’年廣東省會考“閲讀理解”短文(C)篇中有這樣一句話：

In the past, there were forests all around Lake Ponkapog 國中英語, so the rainwater was clean.

短文後的題目是：

In the past Lake Ponkapog was surrounded by ________. A. fish B. rain C. birds D. forests

【分析】題目所要問的是“Lake Ponkapog四周過去被什麼東西所環繞？” 而閲讀材料中已用There be句型表達出了這層意思，句式不同，卻有異曲同工之妙。
