國小英語閲讀：凌亂的房間

Papa calls a family meeting right then and there. "It isn't fair to your mama and me, because we have a lot of other things to take care of. And it isn't fair to you, because you really can't have fun in a messy room," Papa says.

地道口語：讓人凌亂的“重口味”英文

這個如今紅的發紫的詞語“重口味”用英語該怎麼説呢？

首先，字面來翻譯的話自然是strong taste/strong flavor，不過這個用來解釋菜品的味道還湊合，要用來表達網友們的引申義絕對是不給力的。

昨天，網上一位大蝦給出了一個給力翻譯：“我第一時間想到hardcore，電影裏若講到重口味或有點變態的事情，會説hardcore shxx。這個詞表程度挺好用， 比如你很控某事或某人，是死忠支持者，可以説自己是hardcore fan：I'm a hardcore high-heel fan。”

用hardcore來翻譯“重口味”，合適嗎？這就需要我們好好的瞭解一下hardcore這個單詞的來源和本義。

hardcore: A branch of underground/indie music influenced by faster abrasive punk rock. Originating in the early 80’s as a variant of punk rock, hardcore evolved to a modern sound that can be compared to non commercial metal. hardcore最初的.意思是一種搖滾音樂，起源於80年代的英國，是朋克搖滾中最強硬、最極端的一個變種，屬於極端搖滾，大多歌曲節奏相當激烈、旋律簡單、速度極快。

以上我們可以看出，這是一種相當“重口味”的音樂，一般人玩不來……

除了朋克搖滾音樂，hardcore顯然還有其它的意思。

正如上面那位大蝦網友解釋的：“比如你很控某事或某人，是死忠支持者，可以説自己是hardcore fan。”hardcore的第二個意思就是來形容頑固、瘋狂、堅定的人，比如：

hardcore players do not consider themselves hardcore.

許多遊戲發燒友並不認為他們很發燒。

這裏補充一句，和hardcore這個意思很相近的有一個英文單詞：die-hard，形容詞，指鐵桿粉絲：I'm a die-hard fan for Beckham. 我是小貝的鐵桿粉絲。

回到我們“重口味”的正題，有了上面兩個意思的鋪墊，是不是覺得hardcore來翻譯“重口味”有點靠譜了呢？更靠譜的在後頭：

這樣意會一下，hardcore的意思可不就是咱們常説的重口味嘛！其實如果你常看美劇或英文電影，就能經常在他們的對話中聽到hardcore這個單詞，尤其是用來表示感歎。這是歐美人口語中很給力的一個詞，很我們的“重口味”相當的配^^
